About Tim Ammann

Age 21, Deadlifting 180kg

How do you want to look? How do you want to feel? And how do you want to perform?

Hey, I'm Tim, ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. Thanks for checking out my website! ;) Let me tell you a bit about myself. I’ve been involved in many different sports since an early age. Since birth I’ve always had a passion for moving and exercising. However, in my childhood and early teen years, despite my regular exercising, I was overweight. This bothered me, and eventually led me to lifting weights at age 14. I immediately fell in love and 8 years later, aged 22, I've sharpened my fitness skills and specialized in strength training, muscle growth & fat loss, and athletic performance.

Through consistent hard work and trial and error, I’ve reached the point of being very happy with my body and overall physical state. This is something I’d love for everyone to feel too, even though unfortunately most don’t.

That’s why I’m proud to say that today I get to guide others towards their own fitness goals and consequently help them live better, higher quality lives.

Now let’s get into my training philosophy!

Personally, I believe there are 3 pillars of physical success:

  1. How you look.

  2. How you feel.

  3. How you perform.

For me, it’s not only about looking good. It's about looking good, feeling good, and performing at your best. This is the holy triad.

Everybody has their own goals, and that’s great. But what’s the point of having a six-pack when you have horrible back pain? Or what’s the point of being super muscular, but barely being able to walk a long flight of stairs without getting out of breath?

You get the point. Everyone is different, and not everyone cares about the same things. For you it may not be important to bench press your body weight, but for someone else it may be. Instead, maybe you just want to lose some weight, and go through daily life with no injuries or nagging pains. Training always depends on the individual person, after all, that’s why it’s called personal training!

Still, to be successful, everyone must accomplish some sort of (their OWN) balance between those three aspects.

It is my job as a personal trainer to help you achieve the balance that is exactly right for you. We will determine what needs to be done, execute, and adapt as we go.

I believe in the importance of learning proper technique and form before lifting heavy. Many trainers… You simply can't rush the process; you need to embrace the journey and learn step-by-step. I've learned this along my own path, and it's something I want all my clients to experience.

I'm not just about helping you reach your fitness goals; I'm here to guide you on a transformative journey. Getting in shape isn't just a physical journey; it's a mental one too. Who you become during your journey is worth more than any amount of money could ever buy. "The best investment you can make, is an investment in yourself." -Warren Buffet

My extensive background in sports, including +10 years of Football, 2 years of American Football, 1.5 years of Boxing and Kickboxing, and my recent introduction into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, also makes me a true enthusiast of martial arts and overall athletic performance.

My Story

Tim aged 10

People see the heavy weights that I lift, the physical shape that I’m in, or the athletic performance I’m capable of, but they don’t see where I started, and what it took to get me here.

Listen, I know what it feels like to be unhappy with how your body looks in the mirror. I grew up as an overweight and chubby kid. I was constantly active and always loved sports, but I was never quite satisfied with my body.

I knew something had to change.

So at age 14, I decided to change. I delved head-first into the world of nutrition, fitness, and training. I knew that if nothing changed, nothing would change. Remember: if nothing changes, nothing changes.

I would learn something, try it out, keep it if it worked or discard it if it didn’t. As you can imagine, this meant going back to the drawing board over and over again. I tried FAD diets, HIIT trainings, ab workouts, bodybuilding splits, different supplements, 6am workouts, and much, much more.

I spent countless hours over the following years figuring out the best way to train, eat, and get results.

So, around age 20/21, I started becoming very happy with my body, started hitting intermediate/advanced lifts in the gym, and was overall in a good headspace. I had done pretty well in bodybuilding, powerlifting, and strength training. However, eventually I reached a crossroads. Was I to continue down the same path of simply lifting weights?

Sometimes, even though a strategy has given you success so far, it doesn’t mean that it’s the right strategy going forwards.

Coincidentally one day, I was told to join a boxing class. For fun, I accepted. I thought that I was "strong" and "in shape", but let me tell you, I got my ass WHOOPED! I still remember right after my very first class, I wanted to take a piss, but my hands were shaking so much that I couldn't even pee! In that moment I realized, “man, I suck so much at this…“ and thinking right after “AMAZING, something to work on!!“ So before I knew it, I had fallen in love once again.

Long story short, that was 1.5 years ago. Since then I’ve delved more and more into boxing, kickboxing, muay-thai, and recently brazilian jiu-jitsu. The world of martial arts fascinates me! But what does this have to do with my personal training business?

I LOVE sports, I LOVE pushing myself, and I LOVE getting better!! What better to get out of your comfort zone than to have a good sweat? So I started my personal training business

I understand many of you have full-time or part-time jobs, are studying, have kids to take care of, etc.

I always try to switch up the trainings to keep them fun, whilst still focusing on improving on a few main lifts. (balance)
